The banner photo, Neretva River, Bosnia is by Katie Baroody, a media and arts design graduate from JMU. She donates 20% of proceeds from the sale of her photography work to B.E.A.C.H. (www.b-e-a-c-h.org) Katie spent a week volunteering with B.E.A.C.H in 2010 helping to clean the vast amounts of debris from the Pacific Garbage Patch that ends up on beaches in Hawai’i. You may call or email to order prints of her work.
Neretva River, Bosnia
Flowing through Croatia and Bosnia, The Neretva River is famous for its magical, almost unreal turquoise color. It’s one of the coldest rivers in the world, and because it’s so clean “we were able to jump in and start gulping the water!”
